Amman: Economic and Social Council President Musa Shteiwi on Monday initiated discussions on enhancing dialogue around the U.S.-government-funded Informal Livelihoods Advancement Activity (Iqlaa) and emphasized strengthening the council's role in overseeing the project's outcomes.
According to Jordan News Agency, Shteiwi addressed a meeting attended by Iqlaa project representatives and council researchers, focusing on boosting the productivity of micro and small enterprises in Jordan. The meeting sought to explore methods for the council to effectively monitor and capitalize on the project's outputs.
The discussion, which included contributions from council Secretary-General Nazir Awamleh, Iqlaa representatives Laith Qasem and Nidaa Maani, and several researchers, underscored the necessity of expanding project-related discourse. It highlighted the potential impact of a proposed interactive geographic map, which aims to identify micro and small enterprise locations across Jordan's governorates. This map would not only pinpoint business locations but also elucidate the nature of these enterprises, fostering better integration and coordination within each governorate.
