Amman: Egypt has strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli officials calling for the annexation of the occupied West Bank, including the latest remarks by Israel's Minister of Justice.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Egypt reaffirmed its outright rejection of such statements, which it said violate international law and aim to entrench the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories while undermining the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and to establish an independent state along the June 4, 1967 lines, comprising the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem as its capital realizing the territorial unity of all Palestinian lands.

Egypt also condemned continued Israeli violations in the West Bank, including repeated raids, arrests, and the expansion of settlements, describing them as a threat to regional security and an extension of the crimes being committed in Gaza, aimed at destroying the very foundations of life for the resilient Palestinian people.

The statement called on the international community to act immediately to end these blatant violations against the Palestinian people, urging greater international efforts to help Palestinians realize their legitimate national aspirations.
