Cairo, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi in Cairo on Thursday.

In the meeting, Safadi said that the visit of the Jordanian parliamentary delegation participating in the Arab Parliament aims at enhancing Arab food security, an issue that has become a major challenge along with the water security in the Arab region, which requires intensified efforts to confront it through complementary cooperation projects.

Safadi added that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, believes in the importance of strengthening Arab solidarity in all fields, and therefore Jordan, Egypt and Iraq initiated the work to achieve economic integration, as Amman and Baghdad hosted two conferences for this purpose, while the third meeting will be held in Cairo.

He stressed the important role that parliaments can play in order to overcome any legislative obstacles to the Jordanian, Egyptian, Iraqi economic integration projects.

For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, lauded the continuous development of relations between Cairo and Amman under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pointing out to the existing cooperation between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism.

“I would like to emphasize that we are in Egypt and Jordan, and I say that in my meetings with my brother, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, the Jordanian Prime Minister. We work as one team, We do everything in our power to achieve better living standards for the peoples of the two brotherly countries, especially in the matter of social protection in light of these difficult global circumstances.,” Madbouly added.

Madbouly stressed the importance of the significant role of parliaments in consolidating relations between the two countries, pointing inout to the close cooperation between the Egyptian and the Jordanian Parliaments in light of the ties that bring together the two brotherly peoples, and taking into account the similarity of challenges facing the two countries.
