Environment Ministry and University of Jordan Collaborate on Water Resources Development

Amman: The Environment Ministry and the University of Jordan (JU) have formalized a cooperation agreement to initiate the "Development and Sustainability of Water and Pastoral Resources" project at the Muwaqqar Station for Dryland Research.

According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement is funded by the Environment Ministry and was signed by Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh and President of the University of Jordan Nazir Obeidat. The initiative aims to enhance and sustain natural resources at the Muwaqqar Station, setting a precedent for resource development and preservation in the Jordanian Badia region.

Minister Radaideh emphasized that the project would serve as a center for the dissemination of effective technologies aimed at rehabilitating Badia pastures. This aligns with the community action plan established by the Jordanian Badia Rehabilitation Programme.

President Obeidat highlighted the importance of this partnership with the Environment Ministry in advancing sustainable development and resource protection. He noted that the project is expected to positively impact the environmental and economic conditions of local communities.
