EU Explores Increased Support for Gaza Peace Plan

Luxembourg: European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas stated that the Foreign Affairs Council has deliberated on measures for the EU to fully back the peace plan in Gaza. This includes considerations for offering "additional support for governance and reconstruction."

According to Jordan News Agency, Kallas emphasized at the conclusion of a Foreign Affairs Council meeting held in Luxembourg that the EU mission is prepared for deployment. She highlighted that EU member countries are currently the largest financial backers of the Palestinian Authority and the primary humanitarian donors to Gaza.

Furthermore, Kallas confirmed that the European bloc is keeping open the option of implementing sanctions on Israel. This step would aim to ensure compliance with a complete ceasefire in the region.
