Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: Israel Kills Six Palestinians Every 48 Hours in Gaza Since Ceasefire

Gaza: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reports that Israel has killed 150 Palestinians at an average rate of six individuals every two days since the ceasefire on January 19.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement, the organisation describes the use of siege and starvation as tools of slow killing within the context of a "genocide" in the Gaza Strip.

The Euro-Mediterranean detailed that its field team has documented ongoing acts of murder by the Israeli occupation forces, including sniper fire, "quadcopter" aircraft strikes and drone attacks, particularly targeting Palestinians attempting to inspect their homes near the buffer zone established along Gaza's northern and eastern borders.

The report highlights that Israel's large-scale killing and destruction have persisted for 15 months, with an escalation of genocidal policies creating perilous living conditions that lead to a gradual and slow death for the population.

The comprehensive illegal siege has strangled the Strip, preventing the entry of essential humanitarian aid and materials and hindering the repair of vital infrastructure and services necessary for the survival of residents.

With an effective international intervention lacking, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warns of an imminent humanitarian disaster.

Markets are beginning to deplete supplies, and many relief centres and hospices have ceased operations due to the persistent closure of Gaza's crossings and the blockade that has been in place since March 2.

This situation heightens the suffering of civilians and threatens them with inevitable famine.

The organisation has called on relevant countries and entities to fulfill their legal responsibilities and take immediate action to halt the "genocide" in the Gaza Strip.

It demands the complete and unconditional lifting of the blockade, the unrestricted freedom of movement for people and goods, the opening of all crossings without arbitrary conditions and steps to address the urgent needs of the population, including providing adequate temporary housing.

The Euro-Mediterranean urges the international community to impose economic, diplomatic and military sanctions on Israel due to its systematic violations of international law.

This includes banning the export of weapons to and from Israel, halting military cooperation and freezing the financial assets of officials implicated in crimes against the Palestinian people.
