Amman: European Council President Antonio Costa said Monday he was shocked by the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe and civilian suffering in the Gaza Strip, especially children, stressing that international humanitarian law prohibits the use of starvation as a weapon of war.
According to Jordan News Agency, Costa emphasized the European Union's clear stance, advocating for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire and facilitating the unhindered access of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Costa called for the unconditional release of all hostages, an end to illegal settlement activities, and a renewed international commitment to the two-state solution.
