FAO Launches Water Efficiency Training for Farmers in Karak

Karak: Karak Agriculture Director Mamoun Adayleh on Monday inaugurated a specialized training course for local farming associations on water efficiency. The course is organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in cooperation with Advance Consulting and the Karak Agriculture Directorate. It includes participants from across the governorate interested in agricultural development.

According to Jordan News Agency, Adayleh stated that the training, attended by FAO representative Samia Akroush and Mohammad Kharabsheh from Advance Consulting, is part of the project titled "Building Resilience to Cope with Climate Change in Jordan through Improving Water Use Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector." This initiative aims to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural development in areas most affected by climate change across the Kingdom.

He further noted that the course seeks to raise awareness and skills among farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices by improving water management and efficiency. This effort is directed towards enhancing the resilience and sustainability of local farming communities.
