Amman: The first phase of the "Together We Grow" series of workshops was launched on Sunday, organized by the Jordan Football Association (JFA) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and with support from the West Asian Football Federation Foundation for Development. The workshops will continue until next Thursday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop is conducted under the guidance of lecturers Ibrahim Helmi, Murshid Fatafta, Abdul Fattah Al-Shadfan, and Fatima Al-Masaeed. Workshop coordinator Walid Hamed oversees the sessions, which involve 12 male and female care providers from nine care homes for orphans and children without family support across the central, northern, and southern regions of the Kingdom.
The initial phase of the workshop encompasses both theoretical and practical components. It covers the fundamentals of football coaching, the creation of training units, and designing educational sessions linked to the curriculum. It also addresses providing feedback, managing interactions with children, building trust between the coach and participants, understanding child protection policies, and identifying vulnerable groups. These activities aim to enhance the participants' abilities to plan and execute training sessions effectively and systematically.
The training component of the first phase aligns with the project's objectives to improve the technical skills and child interaction methods of care providers. This preparation is designed to facilitate a smooth transition to the project's subsequent stages and to increase the participants' effectiveness through specialized training and qualification.
The project, which is scheduled to continue until next year, aims to engage approximately 100 orphans and children without family support in care homes. By involving them in football activities, the project seeks to develop their life and social skills, spread joy, and enable self-expression, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The series of workshops is part of the Jordan Football Association's commitment to enhancing social responsibility. This initiative is among several ongoing projects and activities designed to emphasize the importance of sport as a vital sector and to address key issues and challenges across different sectors.
