Gaza: Hospitals in Gaza recorded five new deaths, due to starvation and malnutrition, in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll of that kind since October 2023, to 127, including 85 children, Gaza-based health authorities said yesterday, in a brief statement.
According to Nam News Network, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, Philippe Lazzarini, remarked on the social media platform X that a manmade hunger can only be addressed by political will. Lazzarini called for lifting the siege, opening the gates, and guaranteeing safe movements and dignified access to people in need. He added that the agency currently has the equivalent of 6,000 trucks in Jordan and Egypt waiting for the green light to enter Gaza.
