Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Sunday phoned his Iraqi counterpart Fouad Hussein, and underlined Jordan’s condemnation and denunciation of a failed terrorist assassination attempt against Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

Jordan stands fully by Iraq in the face of all challenges, and against anything that targets its security, stability, march, achievements, and the safety of its people and leadership, Safadi underscored. He stressed that the security and stability of Iraq is a cornerstone for the security and stability of the region.

Prior to the phone call, Safadi tweeted on his official account: “We condemn in the strongest terms the attempt to assassinate Al-Kadhimi and denounce it as a heinous terrorist crime and cowardly aggression against Iraq and its stability.”
