Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi engaged in a strategic phone call with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, to discuss ongoing consultations and coordination on regional developments and issues of mutual concern.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi condemned the recent drone attack targeting two vessels at Egypt's Damietta Port, expressing Jordan's full solidarity with Egypt. The two ministers strongly rejected assaults on civilian infrastructure and vital facilities, emphasizing that such actions threaten the security, freedom, and safety of international navigation and global trade.
Safadi and Abdelatty reviewed the latest regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions and restore calm. They highlighted the importance of maintaining the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, resuming negotiations, and prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy to promote regional security and stability, while preventing further escalation of conflict.
The ministers emphasized the necessity of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and preserve peace and stability across the region. They reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Jordan and Egypt on regional and international issues of common interest.
