FM Meets Japan Official on Gaza Reconstruction Efforts

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi received Okubo Takeshi, Special Assistant to Japan's Foreign Minister, who is responsible for reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip. The meeting, aimed at discussing strategic partnership enhancements and regional developments, took place on Wednesday.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi emphasized the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and ensuring unhindered access to humanitarian aid. He highlighted the necessity for Gaza's reconstruction and the pursuit of a political solution that leads to an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution framework.

Safadi acknowledged Japan's support for the two-state solution and its continued humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. He praised the ongoing collaboration between Japan and Jordan in coordinating international humanitarian relief efforts in the region.
