Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Tuesday held a phone conversation with the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. During the call, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed discussed regional developments, the repercussions of the regional escalation, and efforts aimed at restoring calm and enhancing security and stability.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers emphasized the necessity of pursuing diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the crisis. They highlighted the importance of supporting efforts aimed at ending the escalation and reaching a comprehensive agreement that addresses all causes of tension, thus achieving regional security and stability.
The conversation also covered the dangerous deterioration in the occupied Palestinian territories, with both ministers reiterating their condemnation of illegal Israeli measures. They stated that these actions violate international law, constitute a dangerous escalation, fuel further tension and violence, and undermine opportunities for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
Furthermore, both sides stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to compel Israel, the occupying power, to halt all violations of international law and international humanitarian law. In the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed discussed a number of regional issues of common interest.
