Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, has called for urgent international intervention to hold Israel accountable for its actions in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that global efforts are necessary to halt what he describes as ongoing massacres.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi highlighted the importance of supporting the stance taken by the foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain, who have collectively condemned the recent Israeli attacks on Gaza and announced plans to establish a permanent presence in Gaza City. Safadi stressed the need for a strong international response to address the humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians, stating that Israel should not be allowed to continue its actions with impunity.

Safadi further warned that without facing consequences, the Israeli government would persist in its aggressive policies not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank, and potentially extend its destabilizing actions to Syria and Lebanon, posing a threat to regional and global security.

He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of fostering conflict to sustain his political career and advance a divisive ideology. Safadi asserted that Netanyahu's actions in Gaza are destroying hopes for peace and exacerbating regional tensions.

Additionally, Safadi expressed concern over the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, where he noted 1.3 million Palestinians have seen their livelihoods devastated, and another million are suffering from famine due to Israeli policies. He argued that Netanyahu is blocking potential ceasefire agreements, preferring continued conflict over peace.

Safadi called on the international community to confront this "terrible reality" and urged nations to join the efforts of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain in advocating for justice and peace to prevent further suffering of innocent Palestinians.
