Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi discussed, during a phone call on Saturday with his Yemeni counterpart Ahmad Awad Bin Mubarak, the aftermath of a drone attack by the Houthi militia on the al-Dhabba oil terminal.
The Yemeni minister updated Safadi on developments in Yemen and the aftermath of the Houthi attack, which is “a clear violation of international resolutions and efforts aimed at deescalation and reaching an agreement to end the Yemeni crisis and bring about security and stability.”
Safadi condemned the attack, which “undermines efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis and restore security and stability.”
He stressed the need to renew the truce, which mitigated the impact of the crisis on the “brotherly people of Yemen”, and the need for a Houthi favorable response to efforts being made to reach a political solution to the crisis in line with United Nations resolutions and credible references.
Safadi commended the position of the legitimate Yemeni government and its measures to achieve peace in the country.
He reiterated that Jordan will continue to stand by the Yemeni people and support the legitimate government in its efforts to resolve the crisis to achieve security, stability and development and also guarantee the security of Arab Gulf countries.
