Foreign Minister Conveys King’s Greetings to Syrian President

Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Tuesday delivered the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa along with a message reaffirming the Kingdom's support for Syria and its commitment to strengthening ties.

According to Jordan News Agency, President Sharaa expressed greetings to His Majesty the King during a meeting with Safadi and members of the Jordanian Higher Coordination Council. The meeting took place following the first session of the Council, chaired by the foreign ministers of Jordan and Syria.

During the discussions, President Sharaa praised His Majesty King Abdullah II's support for Syria and highlighted Jordan's steadfast backing for Syria's efforts to overcome challenges. He urged strengthening ties and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Safadi and Syria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad Shibani signed an agreement to establish the Higher Coordination Council, which convened its first meeting. They agreed on a strategic roadmap to enhance collaboration in energy, water, trade, industry, transport, and other vital sectors, aiming to promote regional stability and development.

The Higher Coordination Council comprises: Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Al-Saud; Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah; Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh; Minister of Transport Wissam Tahtamouni; and their Syrian counterparts: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Shibani; Minister of Economy and Industry Mohammad Shaar; Minister of Energy Mohammad Bashir; and Minister of Transport Yarub Badr.
