Foreign Minister Receives Calls Affirming Solidarity with Jordan

Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi received phone calls on Wednesday from Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Employment and Tourism Vijita Herat, and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric. Safadi engaged in discussions with his counterparts regarding the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region, exploring prospects for restoring calm and efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading. He emphasized the need to activate diplomatic channels to enhance security and stability across the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Spoljaric reviewed preparations for the high-level conference on humanitarian action in conflict that Jordan is set to host in the final quarter of this year. The discussions also touched on ongoing cooperation between Jordan and the ICRC. The foreign ministers of Australia and Sri Lanka reaffirmed their solidarity with Jordan, highlighting their support amidst the current regional tensions.
