Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part today in the annual consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab at the ministerial level, on sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).

The meeting was chaired by Sameh Shoukry, Egypt’s Foreign Minister on behalf of Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Chairman of the current session of the Council of the League of Arab. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Arab League Secretary-General, also attended.

The ministers discussed coordination among Arab countries regarding the UNGA 78 agenda and the high-level meetings they will participate in.

The meeting aims to coordinate Arab countries’ stances vis-à-vis the issues to be raised, enhance joint Arab action, and promote cooperation towards greater integration and solidarity.

The ministers also discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as well as efforts to support the Palestinian issue at this global gathering, particularly ways to enhance Arab coordination with regional and international organisations in this regard.
