Amman: The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Majed Qatarneh, held discussions with senior officials from the UN Emergency Management Committee regarding the ongoing Israeli conflict in Gaza and the rising tensions in the occupied West Bank. The meeting was led by Adeem Wosoorno, Director of the Operations and Advocacy Division at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), on Sunday. According to Jordan News Agency, Qatarneh emphasized the urgent need for Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza and address the escalating violence in the West Bank. He urged Israel to comply with international and humanitarian laws and to cease ongoing violations of UN resolutions. The dialogue also focused on enhancing cooperation to ensure the delivery of adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which is currently experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis. During the meeting, Qatarneh expressed gratitude for the efforts of UN humanitarian agencies and reaffirmed Jordan's support for humanitarian workers. He highlighted Jordan's commitment to upholding the protection of these workers under international law, showcasing the nation's dedication to addressing humanitarian needs in conflict-affected regions.
