Jerash: The historic Colonnaded Street of the ancient city of Jerash has transformed into an open-air gallery, hosting a fine arts exhibition as part of the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts. The showcase brings together historical grandeur and contemporary visual expression through the works of 40 fine artists representing diverse schools and styles of the Jordanian art scene.
According to Jordan News Agency, the exhibition moves beyond enclosed galleries, creating a dynamic dialogue between art and the public within the ancient Roman city. Visitors wandering among the historic stone pillars witness an immersive creative journey brought to life by the stroke of a brush.
The participating artists comprise 28 members from the Grasia Fine Arts Association and 12 from the Fine Artists Association, led by Tariq Al-Atoum, reflecting a rich cross-section of Jordan's artistic community.
Ghasan Al-Ayasrah, head of the Grasia Fine Arts Association, emphasized that the artists' participation forms an integral pillar of the festival's cultural program, serving as a vital bridge for direct communication between creators and audiences in a setting where history and art converge.
Al-Ayasrah noted that the Colonnaded Street endows the exhibition with exceptional value, utilizing a historic urban landscape as an open creative pavilion that welcomes visitors while celebrating domestic fine art.
The fine arts exhibition continues to reinforce its role as a key contributor to Jordan's cultural identity, with featured canvases carrying aesthetic and humanitarian messages inspired by local heritage, humanity, and collective memory.
