GAM to Install 32,500 Smart Lamps in Amman’s Street Medians

Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) is set to begin replacing 32,500 lighting units in the medians of the capital's streets with smart, energy-efficient LED lamps connected to a central control center starting Sunday evening. This initiative is part of a plan to enhance Amman's lighting system and improve its operational efficiency.

According to Jordan News Agency, the GAM's new system will allow remote control of lighting intensity and provide the main center with immediate reports on malfunctions. This feature aims to achieve faster response times and reduce outage durations. The plan also includes rehabilitating lighting infrastructure in tunnels and bridges across different areas of the capital to enhance traffic safety and improve lighting quality.

The step is in line with the municipality's policy to implement smart solutions and modern technologies in managing city facilities, aiming to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
