The total number of global COVID-19 cases surged to 163,368,005 on Tuesday, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
The Bloomberg news agency said that the University, in its latest update, revealed that the current global death toll stands at around 3,391,530.
It said more than 280 million doses of the various COVID-19 vaccines were administered around the world.
