Amman:The sixth edition of the global "Marathon des Sables" (MDS 120 Jordan), a week-long and three-stage desert adventure race, has concluded successfully. This event, held under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, attracted over 500 international participants, mostly from European markets. The unique tourism and sports experience took place across the stunning landscapes of Wadi Rum, Petra, and the Dead Sea.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event was organized by Jordan Experience Tours (JET DMC) in partnership with a French collaborator and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).

This vision focuses on establishing sports tourism as a promising economic and tourism product. Dabbas highlighted the initiative's goals, which include accessing new international markets, mitigating seasonal demand fluctuations, extending visitor stays, and optimizing economic returns for local communities.
Dabbas further stated that the next phase will concentrate on attracting quality international events and transforming Jordan's natural and heritage assets into global platforms for tourism promotion. This plan aims to enhance Jordan's competitiveness and solidify its standing as an international destination for adventure tourism and sporting events.
