Manama, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Government Hospitals, chaired the board's fourth periodic meeting for 2024. Shaikh Hisham welcomed the members and emphasised the government's continued focus on advancing the health sector, contributing to ongoing improvements in healthcare services. He commended the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to accelerate the completion of cochlear implant surgery waiting lists. Shaikh Hisham highlighted the team's success in clearing the list at Salmaniya Medical Complex in August, noting the positive impact on healthcare efficiency in the Kingdom. The board reviewed achievements made in the first half of the year, such as the establishment of a dedicated ward for women with sickle cell anaemia (SCA). The meeting also discussed several development projects aimed at improving the patient experience in government hospitals, updates on performance improvement initiatives, and the training plan.
