Gov’t believes in true partnership with private sector to address unemployment: Industry Minister

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah said that the government believes in true partnership with the private sector, that the prosperity of the national economy is linked to the growth of the private sector, and that the government alone cannot solve unemployment in isolation from the private sector, which is the first employer of Jordanians. During a meeting on Saturday with members of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA), he stressed the importance of the economic modernization vision and the government's keenness to implement it to have a clear impact on inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Al-Qudah pointed to the measures taken by the ministry to support and empower the economic sectors, including the industrial policy and the Industrial Sector Support and Development Fund, in addition to the National Export Strategy and the plans and programs of the Jordan Exports (JE) in participating in foreign exhibitions and opening markets for national products. He emphasized the impo rtance of the services sector, which is the largest employer of Jordanians, noting that the ministry has developed a clear strategy to support this sector and develop export services, in addition to the cabinet's decision to exempt the profits of services exports for 10 years. Al-Qudah underscored the importance of the agreements signed with the UAE to support and increase trade in goods and services and promote joint investments, pointing out that the national economy needs to implement major projects such as the railway project to stimulate the economic sectors. He explained that the challenges facing the national economy are difficult and that the events in the region have repercussions on the national economy, stressing the need to work as a team and seriously to overcome these challenges and not make the surrounding circumstances a scapegoat for the lack of achievement and progress in supporting the national economy Source: Jordan News Agency
