Gov’t denies decision on 2% pension cut as of November

The cabinet's media center denied reports on some social networking pages alleging a decision by the National Authority for Social Insurance to reduce value of pensions by 2% as of November, 2024. In a statement on Saturday 12/10/2024, the center said it communicated with the authority, which refuted such news as groundless. Pensions will be paid to beneficiaries at the scheduled time with no reductions, it added. Such reports are meant to disrupt public order and trigger outrage, the statement said. It urged all pensioners not to be deceived by such reports. Source: State Information Service Egypt
