Ajloun: The Ajloun Cultural Centre on Saturday hosted a ceremony marking the graduation of the first cohort of students from the Fine Arts Institute, under the patronage of Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh. Rawashdeh addressed the ceremony, which was attended by the ministry's Secretary-General Nidal Ayasrah, MP Feryal Bani Salman, Ajloun Assistant Governor Akram Khawaldeh, and Director of Arts Training Institutes Hussein Dgheimat. He highlighted that the program, run by the ministry through its cultural directorates, aims to empower young individuals by equipping them with skills across various cultural fields. The initiative is designed to create job opportunities and support national production, ultimately enhancing the quality of life.
According to Jordan News Agency, Rawashdeh emphasized the significance of the creative cultural industries, noting the material and moral impact they have on individuals and society. The ministry is committed to improving the quality of these industries, expanding their markets, and developing protective legislation for cultural-industry products, in cooperation with several bodies. The arts-training program is one of the ministry's oldest and most significant initiatives, aligned with comprehensive sustainable development plans and the Economic Modernisation Vision.
Director of the Ajloun Culture Directorate, Samer Freihat, expressed pride in the Fine Arts Training Institute's specialization, viewing it as a source of creativity and excellence. The directorate aims to nurture a generation skilled in art, music, literature, science, knowledge, and innovation, contributing to the nation's progress.
Aya Smadi, representing the drawing division, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates. The ceremony included a documentary film on the Ajloun Cultural Centre, artistic stories, national and folk songs, an Arabic calligraphy and visual arts exhibition, and concluded with Minister Rawashdeh honoring the graduates.
