Amman: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres affirmed that the Palestinian people have the right to dignity, justice and self-determination, stressing that the establishment of a Palestinian state is an inherent right.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a message delivered by his Chief de Cabinet Courtenay Rattray during the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Tuesday, Guterres said the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) "remains a lifeline for millions of Palestinians," urging the international community to support the agency in the occupied West Bank, in Gaza, and in its work with refugees across the region.

He reiterated his call to end the unlawful occupation of Palestinian territory and to achieve irreversible progress toward a two-state solution, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
