GUVS Hails King’s EU Parliament Address as a Humanitarian and Political Reference

Amman: The General Union of Voluntary Societies (GUVS) on Tuesday praised His Majesty King Abdullah II's address before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, describing it as a humanitarian and political reference that reflects Jordan's unwavering national principles and its ethical stance in defending Arab causes.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement issued by the union, the head of its temporary administrative committee, Nasser Al-Shraideh, said the King's speech expressed the collective conscience of Jordanians and free people around the world. He reiterated Jordan's consistent position on the Palestinian cause and its rejection of all forms of occupation and aggression, while calling for respect for international law and human rights.

Al-Shraideh noted that His Majesty's reference to the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, represented a global humanitarian appeal and a moral call to action, holding the international community accountable for the ongoing atrocities committed against innocent civilians, especially children and women.

He stressed that the message was rooted in Hashemite principles that place human dignity above all else.

The Union, Al-Shraideh added, stands firmly behind the wise Hashemite leadership and commended the King's address for embodying Jordan's message of moderation, justice, coexistence, and rejection of double standards.
