Zarqa: Three projects by students from the Prince El Hassan Bin Talal Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment at Hashemite University secured top positions in the "Green Hackathon" project competition, an initiative organized by the Business Development Center (BDC) with funding from the European Union. The competition was held in cooperation with Idama Company, the Climate Action Network, and the German Jordanian University.

According to Jordan News Agency, the students' projects ranked first, third, and thirteenth in a highly competitive contest that featured 50 student-led initiatives aimed at benefiting the Zarqa and Azraq regions. The winning students Qais Nasser, Thaer Azraq, and Abdul Rahman Muslim were among 15 finalists recognized for their innovative contributions.

The projects focused on sustainability-driven solutions, including smart agriculture, wastewater reuse, and agricultural waste recycling.

Dean of the Faculty Salman Kofhi emphasized the significance of extracurricular engagement in enhancing students' practical knowledge and involvement in national sustainability projects. He underscored the role of such initiatives in promoting green job opportunities and strengthening economic empowerment.
