The Hayat Fund for Education has offered a full university scholarship to Saleh Hamdan, known as the Zarqa Boy, after he passed the high school (Tawjihi) exam and scored an 85 per cent average.

“The scholarship is part of the Fund’s work, methodology and mission to support unprivileged students who suffer difficult living conditions, and enable them to complete their educational path,” the Fund’s Chairman Mousa Saket, said Saturday in a statement.

The Fund, in cooperation with the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) office in Jordan, had earlier announced the provision of university scholarships to outstanding students from poor families, in accordance with mechanisms and standards adopted in providing support to both parties.

The Hayat Fund for Education is a charitable organization established in 2009 and aims at providing education for financially incapable students in universities and vocational institutes, enhancing their capabilities and enabling them to enter the labor market, through the university education program, the vocational training and rehabilitation program, and the community service and capacity building program.
