HCDS Expands Rehabilitation Services for Injured Veterans in Northern Regions

Amman:The Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS) is actively providing comprehensive care and rehabilitation services to 1,244 injured veterans across northern regions. This initiative is part of an integrated approach that includes healthcare, social support, financial aid, and rehabilitation aimed at supporting disabled military personnel and their families.

According to Jordan News Agency, Hamdan Masharfeh, head of the HCDS Northern Region branch, emphasized the range of services currently available, which encompass financial assistance, emergency cash aid, and transportation allowances for veterans with kidney failure. The HCDS tailors medical aid to suit the specific needs of the veterans, offering wheelchairs, medical beds, and a host of other medical supplies.

Masharfeh highlighted the establishment of an in-house workshop by the HCDS to maintain and manufacture medical equipment, ensuring that beneficiaries have access to necessary items such as medical beds, ramps, and assistive devices. The focus on rehabilitation includes physical therapy and vocational and cognitive programs, which aim to enhance social integration.

The HCDS is committed to further developing its services, securing grants for income-generating projects, and strengthening partnerships with supporting institutions. The commission also coordinates with public and private entities to facilitate employment opportunities for veterans and their families. Official statistics indicate the distribution of registered veterans as 725 in Irbid, 190 in Mafraq, 180 in Ajloun, and 149 in Jerash, underscoring the branch's significant role in managing the affairs of these beneficiaries.
