Amman: The Jordanian Medical Aid Society for Palestinians announced on Wednesday that it has successfully fulfilled its commitment made earlier in 2025 to conduct 300 surgeries for patients residing in refugee camps and other underserved communities.
According to Jordan News Agency, this accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the society's 35-year history of providing healthcare and humanitarian aid. The society attributes its success to effective fundraising efforts through various humanitarian campaigns such as "ease their suffering" during Ramadan, "back to school," and the ongoing "your zakat is their treatment." These campaigns have been crucial in financing surgeries for patients in camps, addressing the increasing demand for surgical services amid challenging economic conditions.
The 300th surgery, performed on a child in the Hittin refugee camp who was experiencing severe pain, highlights the society's impact. The procedure was conducted by specialist doctors in collaboration with volunteer consultant Saeb Hammoudi. The child's recovery and current good health underscore the positive effects of donor support and the trust the local community places in the medical services provided by the association.
The society emphasized its ongoing dedication to offering comprehensive healthcare, which includes pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative medical care. This commitment ensures patient safety and aims to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
