Amman: Minister of Health Firas Hawari on Tuesday inaugurated the al-Arin Primary Health Center in al-Amiriya District, al-Jizah, Capital Governorate. The facility, built at a cost of JD700,000 from the Capital Governorate Council's decentralization budget, aims to enhance primary healthcare services.
According to Jordan News Agency, the inauguration was attended by al-Jizah District Governor Mahmoud Braizat, Central Bedouin District representatives Habis Fayez, Fleeha Khudair, Ibrahim Jbour, and Suleiman Zaben, along with Secretary-General of Primary Health Care and Epidemics Raed Shboul, members of the Governorate Council, and local residents.
Hawari underscored that the opening of the center aligns with the Ministry of Health's strategic plan to modernize healthcare services in hospitals and primary health facilities. He noted that it reflects the outcomes of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan's field visits to health institutions across the Kingdom.
The new health center, spanning 900 square meters over two floors, is equipped with clinics for general and family medicine, dentistry, gynecology, pediatrics, maternity and childcare, as well as radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy services. It also includes medical records, accounting offices, and storage facilities.
Hawari highlighted that the ministry is working to phase out rented and outdated health centers, replacing them with state-owned facilities to ensure service sustainability and improved operational conditions.
Additionally, he detailed plans for implementing the first phase of the comprehensive health coverage strategy, which includes launching a new insurance fund to provide primary healthcare services for approximately two million social security subscribers who are not currently covered by compulsory insurance.
The al-Arin Primary Health Center, which began receiving patients a week ago, serves a local population of around 3,000 residents.
