Amman: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the authority to decide whether to suspend university classes or shift to online learning lies strictly with university presidents. The ministry emphasized that no unified, central decision has been issued by the ministry itself.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's spokesperson, Muhannad Al-Khatib, stated that any reports suggesting a blanket decision applicable to all higher education institutions are inaccurate. He clarified that each university is responsible for independently assessing its surrounding conditions and making decisions in line with its legal authorities.
Al-Khatib further explained that this clarification is being made in response to an increase in student inquiries regarding university attendance during the current period. He urged students to keep abreast of updates by monitoring their universities' official websites and verified social media accounts for any decisions issued by university administrations.
He also stressed the importance of obtaining information from official sources and extended his wishes for the safety of all students.
