House Committee and Yemeni Envoy Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Amman: The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee, led by MP Dina Bashir, has reiterated Jordan's steadfast positions on key Arab and regional issues, with a primary focus on achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. This stance was emphasized during a meeting with Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Ibrahim Faqira.

According to Jordan News Agency, Bashir highlighted the robust bilateral relations between Jordan and Yemen, expressing Jordan's eagerness to further strengthen these ties across various fields. She emphasized the necessity of reaching a political agreement to resolve Yemen's ongoing crisis, ensuring the nation's security, stability, and territorial integrity.

Members of the committee underscored the significance of achieving a comprehensive solution that aligns with the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security and peace. They noted Jordan's ongoing role, under the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah, in supporting Yemen since the inception of its crisis. This includes hosting and providing medical care to injured and ill Yemenis in Jordanian hospitals.

The Yemeni ambassador conveyed his gratitude for Jordan's supportive stance towards Yemen, lauding the strong bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in parliamentary domains. He also acknowledged Jordan's backing of regional and international initiatives aimed at fostering peace in Yemen.
