Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi stated that the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza, including genocide, blockade, and starvation, are clear violations of international humanitarian law and necessitate a strong and immediate response from the international community. Safadi's comments were made during a meeting with Jan Fredes, the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Amman.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi praised the humanitarian efforts of the ICRC and emphasized the importance of continued support for communities impacted by conflict and war. He acknowledged the organization's dedication to reducing suffering in crisis-affected regions, particularly in Gaza.
During the meeting, Fredes discussed the ICRC's long-standing presence and activities in Jordan since 1967, highlighting their ongoing commitment to assisting those affected by regional conflicts. He expressed gratitude for Jordan's role in supporting international humanitarian law and emphasized Amman's significance as a critical logistical hub for humanitarian aid operations across the region.
