Amman: House Speaker Mazen Qadi has convened a meeting involving the parliamentary Environment and Administrative Committees, alongside relevant ministers and stakeholders, to address the Executive Program of the 2026-2027 Cleanliness Strategy aimed at combating random waste dumping.
According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative was prompted by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II's recent comments on the importance of this strategy. During a meeting with Environment and Climate Committee Chairman Jihad Abawi, Administrative Committee Head Khalifa Dayat, and other Members of Parliament, Qadi emphasized that public cleanliness reflects societal respect for the law and enhances trust between citizens and institutions, which should be mirrored through clear and sustainable policy implementation.
Qadi highlighted the necessity of community awareness campaigns, noting that the success of the cleanliness program relies on genuine collaboration between the government, municipal councils, civil society organizations, and the private sector, with parliamentary committees providing necessary oversight. He reaffirmed the parliament's dedication to its legislative and oversight responsibilities to ensure that cleanliness becomes an enduring practice.
