House Speaker Calls for Unified Arab Approach to Yemen Crisis

Amman:Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Mazen Qadi emphasized Jordan's unwavering support, under King Abdullah II, for Yemen's legitimacy, unity, sovereignty, independence, security, and stability.

According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi addressed the issue on Monday at the Lower House during a meeting with Yemeni Foreign and Expatriates Minister Afrah Zouba and Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan Jalal Faqira.

Qadi insisted that an Arab position is essential to protect Yemen and resolve the ongoing conflict. He expressed solidarity with Yemeni legitimacy against Houthi militia attacks, advocating for a comprehensive political solution to restore the state's governance and institutions.

He cautioned that ongoing foreign interference exacerbates instability, impacting Yemen and the broader Arab region's future. He urged Arab nations to address their challenges collectively.

Minister Zouba conveyed Yemen's deep gratitude for Jordan's support under King Abdullah II's leadership, commending his advocacy for Arab issues on international platforms. She highlighted the significance of his recent speech at the UN General Assembly, which garnered widespread recognition.

Zouba noted that Jordanian-Yemeni relations extend beyond politics to include development, economic cooperation, and dialogue. She stressed that rebuilding Yemen's state and institutions after the Houthi takeover requires substantial Arab and international assistance.
