House Speaker Concludes Visit with Iraqi Counterpart After Diplomatic Engagements

Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Al-Qadi on Monday bid farewell to the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat Al-Halbousi, who concluded an official visit to the Kingdom, marking his first international trip since assuming office.

According to Jordan News Agency, during his visit, Al-Halbousi was received by His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday. He also held talks with Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, following extensive discussions with Lower House Speaker Mazen Al-Qadi and members of the House Permanent Office.

In their parliamentary session, Al-Qadi and Al-Halbousi reaffirmed the depth of the historical and fraternal ties between Jordan and Iraq. Both sides emphasized a mutual commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across political, parliamentary, economic, investment, energy, and transport sectors to serve the interests of both nations.

Seeing off the Iraqi parliamentary leader were First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House and chief of protocol, Khamis Atieh, and Lower House Secretary-General Awad Al-Ghuwairi.
