Houthis Accuse Saudi Arabia of Airstrikes on Sanaa Airport

Sanaa:Yemen's Houthi group claimed on Saturday that Saudi Arabia launched four airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV reported that Saudi aircraft also conducted three strikes targeting a telecommunications network in Al Mahabishah, located in Hajjah province.

There has been no immediate comment from Saudi officials or Yemen's internationally recognized government on these claims.

These developments occur amid ongoing clashes in Yemen that began in July, representing the most significant fighting since a truce took effect in April 2022, which had brought a period of relative calm.

The conflict in Yemen began when the Houthis seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and several provinces in September 2014. This action prompted a Saudi-led coalition to intervene in March 2015 in support of the Yemeni government.
