HSSC and ILO Collaborate to Enhance Social Protection in Jordan

Amman: Social Security Corporation (SSC) Director General Jadallah Khalayleh and Employment Policy Expert and Country Coordinator of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Jordan, Amal Mowafy, engaged in discussions on Monday to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation aimed at enhancing Jordan's social protection system.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership with the ILO in supporting the expansion of social security coverage, ensuring financial sustainability, developing communication initiatives, building staff capacities, and promoting social dialogue.

Mowafy pointed out the ILO's backing of the SSC's "Sustainability++" program, which receives funding from Norway, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The program is designed to broaden social protection, enhance access to insurance benefits, and provide technical assistance for updating relevant legislation, including maternity insurance. Additionally, it aims to foster dialogue and build institutional capacities.
