Amman:Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation, has entered into an agreement with the Jordanian Egyptian Fajr Company for Natural Gas Transmission and Supply to provide scholarships for students pursuing technical degrees. This initiative aims to expand access to practical education that aligns with labor market needs.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed by HTU President Ismail Hinti and the company's CEO Yasser Salah El Din. The collaboration will establish a scholarship program to support a number of technical degree students at HTU, allowing them to continue their education in an applied academic environment focused on practical skills and career readiness.
The partnership is part of HTU's efforts to expand scholarship opportunities and promote equal access to technical education for qualified students from across Jordan's governorates. It also seeks to enhance cooperation between technical education institutions and the private sector to support education, training, and employment pathways, particularly in industries requiring specialized technical and practical expertise.
Hinti described the scholarship funding as an investment in Jordanian youth, highlighting the importance of private sector partnerships in expanding access to technical education and aligning academic outcomes with economic sector needs. He emphasized that providing qualified students with access to technical and applied education would enhance their professional and economic opportunities.
Salah El Din underscored the company's commitment to investing in education and skills development, noting that the partnership represents an opportunity to support young Jordanians in building professional careers while addressing the Kingdom's demand for qualified technical workers. The Jordanian Egyptian Fajr Company, which operates in Jordan's energy sector, sees its support for HTU scholarships as part of its broader initiatives focused on education, workforce development, and youth empowerment.
