Huawei Hosts Jordan Media Forum, Highlights Digital Transformation Roadmap.

Amman: Huawei organized the Jordan Media Forum on Thursday, bringing together senior leaders from Jordan's media sector to explore the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation. According to Jordan News Agency, the event, held in Amman, aligned with the Kingdom's Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) and the National Digital Transformation Strategy and Implementation Plan (2021-2025). The forum focused on leveraging advanced technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and ICT solutions to empower media organizations in enhancing content creation, distribution, and management. In his keynote speech, Ammar Tobba, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, underscored the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to bolster Jordan's ICT ecosystem. He highlighted the media industry's urgent need to adopt intelligent transformation and called for nurturing local ICT talent to build a sustainab le, knowledge-based digital economy. Adam Zhang, CEO of Huawei Jordan, emphasized the rapid growth of Jordan's digital economy, driven by government policies, a tech-savvy population, and high internet penetration. "Huawei is committed to supporting Jordan's transition to digital intelligence by providing innovative ICT solutions. We aim to enable media organizations to achieve sustainable growth while enhancing their operational efficiency," Zhang stated. The forum featured presentations on the digital transformation journey of media organizations and included workshops addressing development priorities. Experts from Huawei and its regional teams guided participants in identifying solutions to common challenges faced by the sector. Mohammed Sarrif, Huawei's Regional Director of Digital Industries, detailed strategies for intelligent office transformation. These included simplified office networks, smart campus solutions, AI-powered security systems, and energy-efficient infrastructure. Participants were introduced to advanced tools such as Huawei's Object Storage Service (OBS), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Media Processing Centre (MPC), and Video on Demand (VOD) services. The showcased technologies also incorporated green data center solutions, highlighting Huawei's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. In 2023-2024, Jordanian students excelled in Huawei's ICT competitions, with two teams achieving global recognition. Huawei said it plans to establish over 20 ICT Academies across Jordan in partnership with leading universities, aiming to nurture the next generation of technology leaders.
