Amman: The Iraqi Business Council (IBC) in Amman is organizing a conference on February 16, themed "Investment, Renewable Energy and Financing... Towards a Sustainable Digital Future." This event aims to strengthen economic partnerships between Jordan and Iraq.
According to Jordan News Agency, the conference is being held in collaboration with the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, International Finance Corporation, and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). It will feature discussions attended by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Iraqi Banks Association, Federation of Arab Businessmen, Iraqi business councils, and various local and international economic institutions.
The one-day conference will focus on investment, financing, and digital transformation opportunities, with a spotlight on sectors such as the financial and banking industry, mining, renewable energy, and communications and information technology. The event serves as a platform for direct engagement between companies, strategic project representatives, and financial institutions, offering opportunities for business expansion and regional market growth.
Dr. Saad Naji, IBC Vice President and Head of the Preparatory Committee, stated that key figures such as the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Dr. Khaled Battal, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Ali Al-Alaq, along with other officials and representatives from Jordanian and Iraqi financial sectors, will participate. Dr. Naji emphasized that the conference offers a unique opportunity to enhance Jordanian-Iraqi strategic partnerships, allowing investors and business owners from both countries to explore prospects for joint cooperation and investment.
The involvement of leading international financial institutions is expected to provide support for major projects and stimulate investment, further contributing to the advancement of economic ties between the two nations.
