The Hague: The President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Tomoko Akane, expressed strong disapproval of the interference by certain states in the court's investigations, highlighting the threats and attacks directed at the ICC as "shocking." According to Jordan News Agency, Akane addressed the ICC's members in The Hague, emphasizing that the judicial body is encountering "coercive measures, threats, pressures, and acts of sabotage." She underscored the critical nature of these threats, stating, "If the court collapses, this would inevitably mean the collapse of all positions and cases," and described the threat to the court as "existential." The ICC's decision last month to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has been met with approval from many countries. The warrants accuse the two Israeli leaders of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, which has led to heightened tensions and actions against the ICC.
