ICE Arrests Criminal Illegal Alien in Possession of Multiple Molotov Cocktails After Illinois Sanctuary Release

Mokena: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended Hamed Mohammed Hamed Alsaidi, a criminal illegal alien from Jordan, following his release by sanctuary officials in Illinois. Alsaidi was initially arrested by police in Mokena, Illinois, on August 1, after exhibiting suspicious behavior at a closed gas station and later walking in traffic lanes. Upon arrest, authorities discovered Alsaidi's true identity and found him in possession of eight Molotov cocktails. He now faces charges of felony unlawful possession of a weapon and obstructing identification. According to Homeland Security, ICE had lodged a detainer with Will County on the same day of Alsaidi's arrest. However, sanctuary politicians in Will County did not honor the detainer and released Alsaidi on August 2, following a pretrial release granted by Judge Theodore Jarz. ICE law enforcement successfully re-arrested Alsaidi on August 4, ensuring he remains in ICE custody. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security state d that, despite the initial release, ICE's swift action prevented further risk. The spokesperson criticized Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and local sanctuary policies for endangering American lives, emphasizing the need for change in handling such cases. Alsaidi had illegally entered the United States via California in March 2024 and was released into the country by the Biden Administration.
