Manama: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) has called on the international community to adopt innovative strategies and enhance coordination to strengthen the culture of peace, in light of growing global challenges. In a statement marking the International Day of Peace, observed annually on 21 September, ICESCO urged adherence to humanitarian principles during wars and conflicts, with a focus on protecting vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The organisation also called for providing both material and moral support to these groups. ICESCO highlighted its commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and dialogue through its "360 degrees for peace" initiative, which encompasses a comprehensive, development-focused approach to peacebuilding. The organisation reiterated its readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders to form strong partnerships aimed at safeguarding peace and stability through collective efforts.
