IEC Opens Accreditation for Media Covering 2026 Industrial Chamber Elections

Amman: The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has announced the opening of accreditation for journalists and media personnel interested in covering the 2026 elections for the boards of directors of the chambers of industry and the elections of representatives of industrial sectors. This initiative is part of the IEC's efforts to ensure comprehensive media coverage of the forthcoming electoral process.

According to Jordan News Agency, the accreditation process is guided by the 2023 executive instructions. These instructions regulate the accreditation of journalists, media professionals, photographers, technicians, and other personnel from both local and international print, audiovisual, and broadcast media organizations. The aim is to facilitate media coverage of the electoral process in a structured manner.

Applications for accreditation will be accepted starting Sunday, August 9, 2026, and will remain open until the end of working hours on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The IEC has emphasized that no applications will be entertained after the specified deadline.

In a statement released on Sunday, the IEC urged eligible media personnel, including journalists, photographers, and technicians, to visit the commission's official website. They are encouraged to review the executive instructions thoroughly and complete the necessary accreditation forms to ensure their participation in covering the elections.

The IEC reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with media organizations, implementing measures to enable journalists to cover various stages of the electoral process in compliance with Jordanian laws and international best practices.

For any inquiries related to media accreditation, applicants are advised to contact the commission via email at [email protected].
